The Pipe Shop at the Shipyards

The Pipe Shop Building is a spectacular restored heritage building located in the popular Shipyards Plaza on the City’s waterfront in North Vancouver. This 9300 sq ft expansive indoor catered event space is an awe inspiring blank canvas ready to be filled to its full potential. The stunning, open concept venue has concrete floors, high ceilings, significant glazing, multiple doors and exposed wooden beam construction.

The building’s beauty stands alone, however the location is also ideal. The Pipe Shop Building is located on the North Vancouver’s Central Waterfront in Lower Lonsdale, adjacent to the Lonsdale Quay Market, Seabus and transit hub, plus it is the up and coming restaurant district of the North Shore. Industrial elegance perfect for pop up catered events.

The Vancouver Art Gallery

This turn-of-the-century former provincial courthouse building presents a dramatic exterior backdrop. Inside, the Gallery offers event spaces for catered weddings, receptions, cocktail parties, holiday parties and corporate events.

The Bill Reid Gallery

Nestled in the heart of downtown, the Bill Reid Gallery is a part of Vancouver’s cultural scene and a short walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre, major hotels, parking and public transit. An ideal choice for catered corporate receptions, media and cultural events and private dinners, this venue also features changing exhibitions of contemporary Northwest Coast art.

The Vancouver Lookout

With tons of natural light, high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, the Roundhouse is a unique combination of arts centre, recreation facility, and historic landmark. It offers spaces for a multitude of events including small meetings, catered weddings, corporate events, conferences and tradeshows. Excellent for grand events in Vancouver requiring catering for up to 600 guests.

The “View” on Lonsdale came by its name honestly! Located in North Vancouver this event venue includes a 1200 square foot deck overlooking a glorious panoramic view of the Lower Mainland, the Pacific Ocean and beyond! Catered weddings, corporate events and private parties for up to 240 guests.

Let the unique architecture of the Vancouver Public Library’s Central Branch add a touch of grandeur to your catered event. The Promenade offers more than 7,300 square feet of event space housed in a seven-storey atrium under a magnificent glass roof. Over the years, this space has been used for many fabulous weddings and impressive gala affairs requiring catering for up to 700 guests.

These beautiful grounds will be an unforgettable location for your Vancouver wedding, reception or photos. There are two indoor catering event facilities (large and small) and several outdoor options including the Roseline Sturdy Amphitheatre and our Contemporary Garden Lawn and Arbour. All wedding rental packages include use of the garden for wedding photos on the day of the event and a one year basic garden membership for the couple as a sign of appreciation for selecting us for your special day.

We were planning the wedding in Vancouver from Australia, so the stress could have been really high but starting from the email response when I first approached them for a quote, Louis Gervais stood out from all the other catering companies that I contacted. LOVE this place, the food and the people. Have been there several times – for a cooking class, for lunch, and they’ve catered two events for us. Just last weekend they catered our daughter’s outdoor wedding reception and the guests raved about the food all night long – a huge success.
They’re always a pleasure to deal with – friendly, attentive and willing to go the extra mile with creativity and attention to detail. Great atmosphere at the shop – excellent service all round and even Chef himself is very welcoming. What I appreciate the most is that they serve good food, prepared very well with no pretentiousness. A breath of fresh air.
There was a range of tastes at the last event – from mid-20’s hipster types to young professionals to aunties from the prairies to urbanites with sophisticated palates. In other words, a tough crowd. And they ALL loved the food.
Everything was on time and exactly as promised or even better. Anyone organizing an event knows that is golden.
It’s worth mentioning that I was involved in producing a series of upscale food and wine events across Canada, working with the top chefs in each city. The folks at Louis Gervais are completely professional and top rate. Highly recommended.

Last year we decided to add a spousal component to our conference. We thought that a cooking class at Louis Gervais would be a great way for everyone to get to know each other and have some fun. Louis was outstanding! He made all the ladies feel welcome and ensured everyone was taken care of. One of the ladies brought her 7 year old son to one of the cooking classes. At the end of the class, Louis gave the boy a child’s size chef‘s jacket and butcher’s apron to take home. The little boy and his Mom were just thrilled! Everyone had a wonderful experience!
