Wedding at the Vancouver Lookout

Our second wedding of this busy wedding season was on the observation deck at the beautiful Vancouver Lookout for Dario & Joanna’s wedding reception.  Overlooking a beautiful skyline, the couple’s family and friends spent a fantastic evening filled with incredible food, beautiful décor of orchids and candles, and an Hora Loca hour that proved to be the highlight of the night!

Having met Dario and Joanna on a cold January night at our bistro for their reception tasting, I quickly learned that these two knew their food and drink! A couple that frequently visits all the new, local up-and-coming cocktail and canapé bars in the city; their first and foremost concern for their reception was amazing food and beverage.  Chef Louis did not disappoint!  We had a fantastic menu prepared of eclectic Colombian and Italian amuse bouche and food stations such as Dungeness Crab Cakes on a bed of Arugula with house made papaya salsa and Hot Pinot Grigio Risotto served in a carved Padano Reggiano,  garnished with pine nuts.  A gorgeous iced oyster bar garnished with horseradish crème fraiche and decorated with fresh purple orchids.  The food was flowing, and of course, so were the cocktails!

A signature cocktail was a must for the couple at their wedding; we couldn’t choose just one so we settled on serving three: Margaritas on the rocks, Boulevardier and Negroni Sbagliato!  The guests loved it and our bartenders had a great time entertaining them!

Joanna loves her sweets!  So Louis prepared six different desserts displayed on a dessert buffet towards the end of the evening along with a late night snack of house made pizza, pomme frites and chili spiced popcorn.

This event really was a dream to work on because the couple was so fun and really wanted to treat their guests to an exceptional night.  It of course could not have been done without a phenomenal team of vendors that we like to call “The Dream Team.”
