Our event planners will guide you through each step of the planning process and, Chef Louis strives to personally attend every wedding we book to ensure the menu he designed is executed perfectly.

Whether you are planning a casual afternoon barbecue, an elegant cocktail reception or a five-course gourmet dinner we are up to the task. We can assist in: choosing a Vancouver wedding venue, designing a catering menu, booking catering staff, coordinating rentals and bar service and securing a BC liquor license.

The Consultation Process

Let’s Talk …..

We want your wedding day to be perfect down to the last detail. The first step to making that happen is the initial consultation with one of our wedding specialists. This is your chance to express your vision and discuss the various service and menu options. We want to know what your favourite foods are, if you or your family have any dietary restrictions, where the wedding reception will take place, whether you prefer a buffet, plated, family style or cocktail menu and where you are comfortable budget wise. The more information you provide the better able we are to create the perfect proposal for catering your wedding.

The Proposal

With your vision in mind, Chef Louis will create a custom wedding catering menu for your big day. The proposal will also include a detailed quote for all the components we discussed during the consultation. After sending you the proposal we will contact you again to review the details and answer any questions. While we endeavor to get it right the first time, we welcome any feedback and expect to make revisions to meet your expectations for food, service and budget.

A Menu Tasting

With the menu for your wedding catering perfected, the next step is to schedule a tasting with Chef Louis in our Bistro and studio kitchen. The purpose of the tasting is to show you how the catering menu items will be presented and garnished and give you an opportunity to provide feedback and request any changes. The tasting can be for 2–6 people. We discourage having more people because our goal is to focus on you and your fiance’s wishes and, with too many voices, your vision can get lost in the plethora of opinions. If you have already confirmed your wedding catering with us there is no charge for the tasting. For couples still trying to decide we charge $250.00for a tasting with up to four people. Additional guests can be added at $100 each. $250.00 from the tasting will then be deducted from your final invoice when you confirm your wedding catering with us.

Booking Your Vancouver Wedding Catering

When you are thrilled with your experience and convinced that Louis Gervais Fine Foods is the perfect Vancouver caterer for your wedding, we will reserve your wedding date in our calendar. At this point, we will ask for a deposit of 25% of the total quoted in your proposal. We will continue to be in touch via emails and phone calls so we can answer any questions and provide guidance along the way. One month before your wedding, we will schedule a meeting to go over all the service details for the big day. The goal of this meeting is to reassure you that we have every detail under control so you can focus on more important things ….. like each other.

LOVE this place, the food and the people. Have been there several times – for a cooking class, for lunch, and they’ve catered two events for us. Just last weekend they catered our daughter’s outdoor wedding reception and the guests raved about the food all night long – a huge success.

Last year we decided to add a spousal component to our conference. We thought that a cooking class at Louis Gervais would be a great way for everyone to get to know each other and have some fun. Louis was outstanding! He made all the ladies feel welcome and ensured everyone was taken care of. One of the ladies brought her 7 year old son to one of the cooking classes.
